Piedmont Panthers

Piedmont opens under a new coach for the first time in 14 years as Phil Apple announced his resignation in March. First year coach Kasey Brooks is Piedmont alum who was head coach at Central Academy previously. She will be hurt with the loss of Foster from a quickness and ball handling standpoint, but rising senior Caroline Tripp(10.2 ppg/5.5 rpg/3.6 apg/2.0 spg) had a nice junior season earning 2nd Team All-UCHoops and was all-SCC for the Lady Panthers. Tripp is a good sized guard who is a double threat as she can knock down the open three or drive it to the basket. Sarah Griffin (11.2 ppg/7.6 rpg/2.2 spg) can be a force in the post. The left-handed power forward makes up for what she likes in height with her toughness and relentlessness on the offensive boards. Lauren Whitley 3.3 ppg), Kelly Fagala (4.5 ppg),are deadly from outside on any given night. The Panthers will open the 2017-18 season hosting West Stanly on Nov. 17th .
