The Lady Cavs team finished the regular season by winning the SCC conference tournament. Although a first round home loss in the state playoffs Coach Joel Allen returns four out of five starters including their top three scorers. Rising sophomores Lauren Hardiman and Lillian Anderson provide a tough, physical inside presence that will be a tough match-up for all of the teams in the SCC. Anderson (8.4 ppg/9.3 rpg/1.8 bpg) is a tough, physical left-handed low post player that most teams will have trouble guarding. Hardiman was 3rd Team all-UCHoops and all-SCC as a freshman and did a great job getting to the basket and was a force on the offensive glass (12.0 ppg/8.1 rpg). Kayla Young (9.3 ppg/5.1 rpg/2.3 apg) is playing out of position at point guard, but did a nice job as a 2nd year starter and was also named to the all-conference team. Kailyn McKinney (3.6 ppg/2.0 rpg) is projected to enter her third year as a starter at another guard spot. The final starter could go to senior guard, Alexis Levister (3.1 ppg/2.5 rpg). The Cavs will add freshman, Maddie Dillinger in 2017-18. Dillinger stands 6’1’’ adds more size to an already big team. She will look to contribute right away. The Cavs will open the 2017-18 season hosting Porter Ridge on November 17th.
