2017-18: Taylor Helms was one of five Wingate Bulldogs to play in all 32 games during the 2017-2018 season, making 19 starts during her junior campaign…Averaged 3.8 points per game, with 2.0 assist and 1.7 rebounds per contest…Collected a career-high 13 points, with five rebounds and three assists in the victory over fourth-ranked Carson-Newman...Handed out six assists and added three points at Mars Hill…Went four-for-four from the field against North Georgia in the NCAA Regional semifinals.

2016-17: Helms averaged 1.6 points per game and 0.9 rebounds per game as a sophomore, seeing action in 11 games for the Wingate Bulldogs…played a career-high 16 minutes in a SAC home victory over Mars Hill, posting a career-high (tying) five points and pulling down two rebounds…scored three points each in triumphs over Coker, Tusculum and Lenoir-Rhyne…

2015-16: Helms saw time in seven games as a true freshman at Wingate…scored 13 points…posted season-highs of five points and five rebounds in wild 106-103 double overtime victory at Mars Hill…led team with five assists in triumph over UNC Pembroke…recorded three points and three rebounds in first SAC contest, a road win at Lenoir-Rhyne…

At Cuthbertson Taylor Helms was a four-year varsity starter (at point guard) for coaches Joel Allen and JP Ponikvar. Taylor was named 1st team All-UnionCountyHoops as a senir and junior. 2nd team as a sophomore and freshman. Helms scored a career high 33 points in a win over Anson Co.first team all-county and all-conference four years each. Helms was an all-district pick her senior season, when she averaged 20.3 points per game, 4.7 rebounds per game, three steals per game and three assists per game. Cuthbertson’s team MVP and team captain three years each, Helms is a member of the school’s 1000-point club with 1,576 career points.

Taylor is the winningest player in Cuthbertson girls’ basketball history, Helms holds both the school’s scoring record and the school’s assist record. In addition, she is the Cuthbertson record holder for three-point field goals in a season and a career (196).
