Coach Brandon Rains and the Yellow Jackets will look almost identical to last year’s Elite-8 team that won the Rocky River and Rocky River Tournament. This Yellow Jacket team is loaded, returning are guards junior Tamuri Melton (14.1 99g/4.6 rpg/5.1 apg/5.1 spg) and senior Azaryia Griffin (9.0 ppg/8.1 rpg).The Yellow Jackets are young, and we will keep any eye on sophomores Layla Rushing (10.8 ppg/8.2 rpg), Derrianna Mclendon (13.8 ppg/6.8 rpg) and Nyjaya Wingo (9.5 ppg/3.0 apg/3.0 spg) will look to improve after last season’s success. The Yellow Jackets are the front runner to win the Rocky River Title again. The Yellow Jackets open the 2025-26 season on the road at Albemarle on Nov. 18th.
