The 2009-10 UnionCountyHoops.com’s Boys Player of the Year is Monroe's Issac Blakeney.

Issac helped lead the Monroe to a 32-1 record and a 1A State Championship!

Issac was named 1A State Tournament MVP! Issac finished tied for 4th in Union Co. in scoring with 17.0 ppg. He led Union Co in rebounding with 13.3 per game & blocked 2 shots per game. Issac finished his career at Monroe with 1027 points and set the record for rebounds in a season wtih 431 rebounds. Issac was named 1st Team ALL-UnionCountyHoops.com.

Issace would go on to star on the football field as a WR at Duke.

The 2009-10 UnionCountyHoops.com’s Girls Player of the Year is Porter Ridge's Kelley Godbout.

Kelley led the Porter Ridge Lady Pirates to a 24-4 record and to the 2nd round of the state 4A playoffs. Kelley finished 3rd in Union Co. in scoring with 15.3 per game, 4th in rebounding with 8.9 per game. She finished 4th in assists with 3.0 per game 5th in steals with 4.0 per game. Kelley was named ALL-UnionCountyHoops.com 1st team.

Kelley finished her Porter Ridge career as their all-time leading scorer 1610 points and rebounder with 1090 rebounds.

Kelley would go on to play basketball and soccer at Coker College.
