The 2022-23 UnionCountyHoops.com’s Boys Player of the Year is Porter Ridge’s Kyler Harris. Kyler had an outstanding year helping lead the Porter Ridge Pirates to a 16-11 record and into the 4A State Playoffs for Coach Malone. Kyler led Union Co. in scoring with a 25.1 average while averaging 6.4 rebounds per game, 4.2 assists per game and 2.8 steals per game. Kyler set the Porter Ridge school record for points in a game with 44 points in a 74-62 win over Forest Hills. Harris scored in double figures in every game this season including 40 in a win over Marvin Ridge. Kyler recorded a season high 13 rebounds vs. Lincoln Charter and a season high 9 assists vs. Sun Valley and a season high 6 steals vs. McBee HS.

Kyler was named UCHoops Player of the Week 3 times in the 2022-23 season. Kyler joined the 1000-point club this season and became the 2nd Porter Ridge boy’s player ever to score 1000 points in a career. Kyler didn’t stop there, in the 1st round of the state playoffs became Porter Ridge’s all-time leading scorer finishing his Pirate career with 1073 pts and passing former Pirate teammate Isaiah Williams as the top Pirate scorer. Congrats Kyler it's truly been a pleasure watching you play!!!

The 2022-23 UnionCountyHoops.com’s Girls Player of the Year is Parkwood’s Jade Washington. Ms. Washington had an outstanding year helping lead the Wolf Pack to a 23-6 record, a Rocky River Conference Co-Title, Rocky River Conference Tournament Title and into the 2nd of the state 2A Playoffs. Jade averaged 18.5 points a game this season, 3rd in Union Co. in 2022-23. Jade scored a career high 30 points in a 61-52 win over Piedmont. Jade recorded her 2nd career triple-double in a win over piedmont by grabbing 10 rebounds and dishing out 11 assists in the 61-52 win.

Ms. Washington scored in double figures in 22 of 23 games this game this season while averaging 7.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists along with 3.3 steals a game for Coach Jesse Boyce and the Wolf Pack. Jade was named UCHoops Player of the Week twice during the 2022-23 season. Jade joined the 1000-point club this season and became the 14th Parkwood player to join the club in school history. Congrats Jade, it’s truly been a pleasure watching you play!!!
