The 2007-2008 UnionCountyHoops.com’s Boys Player of the Year is Weddington’s Corey Rase
Corey led the Weddington Warriors to a 14-9 record and to the 1st round of the state 4A playoffs. Corey led Union Co. in scoring with 18.5 ppg along with 4.7 rpg 4.2 apg 2.5 spg. and Corey was also named All-unioncountyoops.com 1st team.
Corey would go on to play at Sandhills CC.

Jennifer Hailey (FH)
The 2006-2007 UnionCountyHoops.com’s Girls Player of the Year is Forest Hills Jennifer Hailey.
Jennifer led the Forest Hills Yellow Jackets to a 24-2 record and to the 2ndround fo the state 2A playoffs. Jennifer led Union Co. in scoring and rebounding with 22.0 ppg and 14.2 rpg. Jennifer scored a career high 40 points in a win over Weddington.
Jennifer was also named All-unioncountyoops.com 1st team for the 2nd straigh year. Jennifer would go on to star at UNC-Charlotte and play professionally over seas.
