The Cardinals make a strong case to win the YVC this season. Coach Nikki Clark-Young and the Cardinals have a version of “Lethal Weapon 3” in 3 seniors Ranon Suttle, Paisley Boatright and Kayl Starnes. Suttle (17.7 ppg/3.5 rpg/2.9 apg/3.1 apg and 38% from 3) is a pure scorer with big time range and was named 1st Team All-UCHoops.com last season. Boatright, who was 2nd Team All—UCHoops as a junior (12.4 pg/9.3 rpg/3.0 spg) is a walking double-double and a hardnosed kid. The newest addition to UA is senior Kayl Starnes, who transferred in from Parkwood was 3rd Team All-UCHoops as a junior. Starnes (13.7 ppg/6.4 rpg/3.3 apg/2.9 spg) can do it all when she is healthy. The Cardinals open the 2024-25 season hosting Valor Prep Academy on Nov. 19th.
