Piedmont (20-9, 11-1 RR Champs)
The Panthers won the Rocky River last season, but this is a new and different team. Head coach Alex Moe will need to replace 3 of their 4 leading scorers from last season including Miles Leaks. Leaks transferred out of Union Co. in the off season. That responsibility will fall on the returners and who will step up. It may start with junior wing Bryan Little; he will be asked to do more (8.8 ppg/7.6 rpg) in the paint and on the glass for the Panthers and be more of a leader after being named to the UCHoops All Newcomer Team last year. The Smith brothers, Carson (3.7 ppg) and Nolan (3.3 ppg) are both big and long and will need to score more along with protecting the rim. The Panthers open the 2024-25 season hosting West Cabarrus on Nov. 19th.
